A ‘wall of kindness’ at a primary school in Geroskipou has been set up by teachers and pupils.
The aim is to raise awareness with both pupils and the public concerning the values of love, giving, volunteering, solidarity, respect and empathy. It also promotes the re-use of materials and the importance of showing respect for the environment and sustainability.
“Leave it if you have plenty, take it if you need it” is the sentiment written on the wall which is found at the entrance of the school.
The initiative is also supported by the school’s parents’ association, the Geroskipou education department and Geroskipou Municipality.
The public is invited to place clean clothes, shoes, non-perishable foods, personal hygiene products and cleaning products (each in a separate bag) for anyone who needs them to collect, on the hangers provided on the wall.
The wall is currently open to the public Monday to Friday from 8am to 3pm.
