The Cyprus government announced further relaxations of measures implemented to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Health Minister Constantinos Ioannou announced that the, “very positive epidemiological picture” was taken into consideration, along with the recommendations of the advisory scientists.
Ioannou also noted that public swimming pools will be permitted to open on June 5 and malls, ports, airports, kindergartens, open-air cinemas and theatres, summer schools and the internal areas of restaurants and cafes (taking into consideration their size and capacity depending on square metres), will be allowed to operate from June 9.
On June 13, casinos, dance schools, gyms, theme parks and luna parks will be allowed to open.
Restrictions on gatherings of a maximum of 10 people remain in force until then.
The minister noted that no decisions have been taken regarding phase 4, but that indoor theatres and cinemas are to reopen in August, while weddings, christenings, festivals and graduations will be permitted from September 1.
The cabinet did not discuss the issue of crossings, he said.
