My name is Andrew Lauder, ex chairman of St Michael’s Hospice Charity.
In 2020, in the Paphos District, 576 patients were diagnosed with cancer. I was one of the very lucky ones, because after 12 months of immunotherapy, I am in remission.
I want to give something back to those less fortunate than myself, so thanks to some very, very generous sponsors, I have founded Care Days to enable cancer patients in the Paphos district and in some cases, their partners, the opportunity of being pampered, free of charge for a morning and to “Live The Dream!”
Once lockdown is over, I am hoping that a 4 or 5 star beach front hotel in Paphos will allow us to offer two free of charge half day passes so that different cancer patients may use them once, with their partners.
In the meantime, Care Days has been fortunate enough to be allowed to offer ONE of the following options for the next 12 months to patients in the Paphos District who have been diagnosed with cancer since 2020 or who are still receiving treatment for cancer.
I have been very generously offered by a top hairdressing salon in Paphos, Markos MY Hair Studio & Beauty Salon by Elena in the same stylish salon, in Chloraka, two free of charge full body massages a week for cancer patients and a hair treatment and wash and shampoo, free of charge.
I have also been offered every week, a champagne (Cava) breakfast for two cancer patients and partners at the lovely Elysia Breeze restaurant, outdoors.
The most peaceful and tranquil Ayii Anargyri Natural Healing Spa Resort, have most generously offered to give half day passes to two different cancer patients and their partners every week in their amazing spa.
Care Days patients and partners may enjoy the 3 different health-giving sulphur pools, the relaxation lounge overlooking the citrus grove, and the outdoor spa pool once a week for the next 12 months, lockdown permitting!
To use the three high pressure jet pools at the Ayii Anargyri Spa, written confirmation from your oncologist MUST be given to the spa or yourself before a booking can be made if you have secondary bone cancer or are unable to walk unassisted.
In total we can now offer a choice of Care Days options to around 300 cancer patients a YEAR, subject to government Covid restrictions, we have raised an incredible €18k in services to Cancer patients free of charge.
So, we are launching Care Days mid May, on Viva FM Radio, thanks to the most generous support offered by Dave Asher of Viva FM Radio and Charlotte Hadjikyriacou. We hope to have our first patients enjoying Care Days from the beginning of June.
I feel very humble at the response to Care Days.
Proposal Options
Care Days offer the following five alternatives, once a week, subject to confirmation and government restrictions:
- Champagne (Cava) Breakfast for two cancer patients and partners at the lovely Elysia Breeze Restaurant, outdoors.
or - A full body massage, shampoo and hair treatment for two cancer patients at Markos MY Hair Studio and Beauty Salon by Elena.
or - A full body massage for two cancer patients at Beauty Salon by Elena (located at Markos MY Hair Studio)
or - A half day pass for two cancer patients and their partners at the magnificent 4 star Ayii Anargyri Natural Healing Spa Resort comprising the use of their three natural sulphur spring therapy pools, relaxation room overlooking the citrus grove and outdoor spa pool (require oncologist’s approval)
or - A full day pass at the fabulous Leonardo Laura Splash Water Park for one child with cancer (over the age of 6) plus one parent.

Patients MUST bring a booking confirmation to your chosen venue, showing the date and name of the patients and partners. This will be provided to you by email from caredayscyprus@aol.com

If your Care Days choice is not available on the date you require, you may try for a later date, but if all dates are booked then please choose a different Care Days option. Please bear in mind that priority will be given to terminally ill cancer patients.
