Magnificent Total Raised From Cake Sale

A bring and buy bake sale held on the 5th August 2021, at Bright Stars kindergarden in both Coral Bay and Kato Paphos raised 1000 euro for the Ronald McDonald House Charity in Nicosia.

The Ronald McDonald House aims at housing families who have children in the Makarios Hospital in Nicosia.

Their motto is “keeping families together in difficult times”. The main housing facility is near completion with the aim of housing families from late December 2020.

They aim to provide comfortable facilities making it easier for families to see their children at a very emotional time.

An initiative by manager Katherine Anderson of Coral Bay Bright Stars aimed at raising much needed funds for the charity. For Katherine and her family this is a charity that touches very close to home as her youngest son was born 7 weeks premature and endures many hospital stays. With this facility in place, family can stay close by to visit as much as they can.

Parents were invited to make cakes and other sweet treats for the staff of both buildings to sell back to the community. The response from the parents and wider families was overwhelming reaching an outstanding amount.

The Director Jaynie Laws gave her full support to Katherine and the staff and was truly humbled by the final total.

Jaynie and Katherine were able to meet the organisational leader Andrie Penta to personally handover the cheque.

Katherine would like to thank each and everyone involved in making this amount possible. Without their support it would not have been possible.
