“Care Days is bringing light into what can be a real scary and dark place for cancer patients. Thank you for the great job you are doing. Keep doing it!” Nurse Paola.
Thanks to the really amazing support from the Paphos Post and Viva Fm during the last three months, followed by Cyprus Living Magazine last month, Care Days Founder Andrew Lauder has told the Paphos Post that although he budgeted for 100 Care Days to be taken up in the first year, 45 have already been taken or will be prebooked in less than three months.
NONE of this would have happened without the support of Charlotte Graphic and Website Designs, the Paphos Post and Viva fm and of course our main sponsors Markos MY Hair and Beauty Salon by Elena, the fabulous Ayii Anargyri Spa and the Elysia Breeze Restaurant together with our Viva Fm sponsors, below.
Latest News: PASYKAF has now joined Cancer Patient’s Support Group in agreeing to support us. Care Days is very grateful for their positive and helpful comments and we are sure that this will lead to an even greater number of bookings.
The new Care Days leaflet now offering SIX options will be distributed in English and Greek next week.
The tie up with Maureen at Angel Guardians has been very successful and our new Care Days/Angel Guardians leaflet for the bereaved has now been produced in English and Greek and will be widely distributed with 4 options available.
This has led to a further tie up with the wonderful Paphos Bereavement Group for whom Andrew was the guest speaker last month as well as at the CPSG meeting, and Care Days is very grateful for the opportunity of talking about what it offers to those bereaved through cancer and patients and in some cases their partners who have been diagnosed with cancer in the last three years.
YES, Care Days has extended the time from diagnosis of cancer to three years because both he and Charlotte have been so moved by how many people in the Paphos District have been affected by cancer and as a cancer patient himself Andrew is well aware of the effect that cancer can have on the patient and the partner.
However what has made both of them so keen to continue with Care Days are the wonderful testimonials from patients saying how much Care Days has helped them:
“What Care Days is doing, is beyond words!” Mr. I.
Cyprus Living Magazine in conjunction with the 5 star King Evelthon Hotel has very kindly offered a wonderful Competition in September with a prize of a SWIM up deluxe seaview room, with many extras for whoever comes up with the best description of how Care Days is helping cancer patients and those recently bereaved through cancer. Details of this PLUS our BOOKING FORMS are on our website:
Finally, Andrew’s dream of offering a Day Pass at a 5 star beachfront hotel has now come about. As soon as the 5 star Annabelle started offering day passes with a generous Eu 15 credit for drinks or spa services, Andrew, Charlotte and a few close friends volunteered to pay for day passes this year. Next year and into the future Andrew has made a commitment to continue paying for these day passes personally in order to let cancer patients and those recently bereaved through cancer to “ Live the Dream!”
Even more importantly, Charlotte has vary kindly agreed to continue the administration of Care Days when Andrew dies, thus ensuring its continuity and leaving a legacy to those people touched by cancer, 576 of whom were diagnosed with this brutal disease in 2020.
The support for Care Days has been very humbling and makes us realize how very blessed we are.
Care Days is not a registered Charity and we do not raise money as everything that is so generously offered by our major sponsors and media partners is a service.
Any donations we do receive from grateful patients are paid over to the wonderful Cancer Patient’s Support Group charity, who offer such an amazing service, together with PASYKAF.
Thanks so much to our main sponsors above and to Paphos Post and our radio sponsors, without whom Care days would never have happened. You have all made a difference to the lives of cancer patients and those bereaved by cancer.
