Caritas Paphos St Paul’s

We write this article with heartfelt appreciation to Paphos Post for publishing our Caritas Article last month. As a direct result of this we have had some wonderful positive comments from a number of different people. In addition, we have had donations of food directly to our Storeroom in Kato Paphos and an increase in clothing and household items being donated.

A few days ago, RSS Peyia contacted us and gave us a substantial amount of Baby’s Equipment and clothing. Just 2 days later we were able to deliver most of this to 2 new young Mothers for their 6 month and 5 day old babies. Their gratitude and thanks were priceless and deeply sincere.

So once again thank you to all our lovely donors and particularly to Staff at RSS.

Our biggest thank you, however; goes to Staff at Paphos Post for helping us to highlight and bring greater attention to those in our community, who for a whole host of reasons find themselves needy and struggling in a sea of bureaucracy with little to dream positively about. We hear the dramatic
and traumatic accounts of people’s lives decimated by deception, fraud and outright lies, which has been compounded by what initially forced them to leave their Motherland. Not all those that Caritas help have tales of hardship, but nevertheless they are just as much in need and Caritas tries to help all of them to get back on the road to self-dependency.

All donations can be collected and are very gratefully received. Our current needs are:
Baby and Children’s Clothing, Diapers, Equipment & Milk.
Men’s Clothing & Shoes.
All small Household items & Kitchenware.
Packeted & Tinned Non-Perishable Food.

If you have a donation to make please contact Neil by email neil.mccormick@gmx.co.uk or me.

Currently over Euro’s 2,000.00 is being spent every month to provide Clothing and Food to many Families from all walks of life. In total we are catering for around 300 people.

If you want to know more about Caritas operations here in Paphos and across Cyprus please look at Caritas Cyprus website or Caritas Paphos Facebook page.
