How You Can Help Animal Rescue Cyprus

What with the world reopening after two years of chaos and near standstill, Animal Rescue Cyprus is very lucky to have survived in its quest to ‘never turn an animal away’ and provide shelter to many, many animals in the meantime. Now, once travelling is once again possible, here is what people can do to help an animal they find during their stay in the Paphos district or how they can help the largest shelter in the Eastern Mediterranean.

If you find an animal and you feel he/she is in need of help, please call 00357/26946461 between 7am and 7pm or 00357/99655581 after 7pm in order to see what can be done for the animal in question. If you have transport available, you will be asked if you can help taking the animal you have found to the reception centre located in Kato Paphos, in order to help the organization cope with the requests for help.

You can visit the shelter any day of the week, between 11am and 5pm. Please note that the ground is uneven and so comfortable, flat footwear is necessary. Hats/caps are necessary and some water. Do not leave children unaccompanied at any time and only walk on the paths existing, not on the outside of these. When going to visit the shelter, please consider taking some fresh fruit treats and/or vegetables for our farm animals. Horses, donkeys and goats love watermelon, carrots are always well received and apples the same. If you decide to make a donation, it will be gratefully received and you will always be given a receipt.

If you decide to sponsor one or more of the animals you have seen in the shelter, please contact sponsor@cyprusanimalwelfare.com and our Sponsorship Officer Emma will assist with all the information needed and then provide you with updates.

Any and all donations of clothes, shoes, bric-a-brac, decorations are needed and gratefully received for our charity shops, and they can be dropped off at our reception centre in Kato Paphos any day of the week until 7pm.

Should you need the house clearance service, you can arrange by calling 00357/26946461 and arranging with reception the preferred date and time for collection.

Donations of food are possible either by shopping in any of the local supermarkets where you can also quote 26946461 for the bonus points which the organization is using to source products and/or food when needed (AlfaMega & Papantoniou are the main ones), but also via www.petfoodcyprus.com who will deliver to our reception centre.

Donations of any of the items on our wish list are very much needed and gratefully received:

Soft & dry food for cats and dogs, special rabbit food, blankets, towels, duvets, feeding bowls, litter trays, metal trays, shovels & rakes, wheelbarrows, hard bushes, buckets, all sorts of tools, cleaning products, newspapers, any shading material, dog & cat toys, mops & brooms etc.

Donations via PayPal are to be made by selecting ‘Friends & Family’ by using email address sponsor@cyprusanimalwelfare.com. Our Donations Officer will contact you.

Via bank transfer, you can donate to: Animal Rescue Cyprus at Hellenic Bank branch 595 Danaes Avenue 8042 Paphos, account number 595-01-G46696-01, SWIFT code HEBACY2N, IBAN number Cy65 0050 0595 0005 9501 G466 9601.

Register as a volunteer and help at the shelter or the charity shops on any day and at anytime convenient to you.

You can contact our Volunteer Officer at arcvolunteer2022@gmail.com.

All of the above are ways in which anyone can help Animal Rescue Cyprus continue the essential work it has been doing until now.

Thank you for your support!
